I've downloaded the latest version of the Boinc-client and startd it. After entering project-url and account-id I'am getting lots of errors like this (system: P4, Suse 9.2): 2005-03-06 15:21:11 [climateprediction.net] Unrecoverable error for result 28c7_200125176_1 (process exitedwith code 251 (0xfb)) 2005-03-06 15:21:11 [climateprediction.net] Unrecoverable error for result 28c7_200125176_1 (process exitedwith code 251 (0xfb)) 2005-03-06 15:21:11 [climateprediction.net] Deferring communication with project for 1 minutes and 0 seconds 2005-03-06 15:21:11 [climateprediction.net] Deferring communication with project for 1 minutes and 0 seconds 2005-03-06 15:21:11 [climateprediction.net] Computation for result 28c7_200125176 finished 2005-03-06 15:21:11 [climateprediction.net] Unrecoverable error for result 0igg_000044185_1 (process exitedwith code 251 (0xfb)) 2005-03-06 15:21:11 [climateprediction.net] Unrecoverable error for result 0igg_000044185_1 (process exitedwith code 251 (0xfb)) 2005-03-06 15:21:11 [climateprediction.net] Deferring communication with project for 1 minutes and 0 seconds 2005-03-06 15:21:11 [climateprediction.net] Deferring communication with project for 1 minutes and 0 seconds 2005-03-06 15:21:11 [climateprediction.net] Started upload of 28c7_200125176_1_1.zip 2005-03-06 15:21:11 [climateprediction.net] Started upload of 28c7_200125176_1_2.zip 2005-03-06 15:21:11 [climateprediction.net] Computation for result 0igg_000044185 finished What is wrong ? Error code 251 in linux usually means an unstable model, i.e. somewhere in the grid a temperature went below absolute zero. If you are getting these repeatedly, it usually means that a hardware error either in the processor or memory. I suggest running the stability tests talked about in <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2024">this thread</a>. If it is dual boot, you can run super-pi in Windows. Otherwise, memtest86+ is a bootable diskette, and Prime95 should have a client for Linux. Run Prime95 and memtest86 for several hours to test stability. |

I don't think there are problems with the computer. Before I run Gimps (mprime) for some month without any problems, totay I want to change to cpdn. currently I'am back to gimps. Jürgen |

Some people who have run Seti or Folding for a long time still have problems with CPDN and find out they have memory errors if they run memtest long enough. |

Now the Client is runnung. Yesterday I let it on (parallel to mprime) and today, where I'am back from work, the client is running. It is now at 25/03/1811 and 03/04/1811 (seems, there are two instances running). Jürgen www.wetterstation-porta.info |

This is presumably about your 2.8GHz P4, HostID #124896. It is, indeed running two Models. Your Account has a parameter to control this feature and it defaults to "2". If that is not what you want, go to "Your account" (menu on left of this page) --> "View or Edit Preferences" --> "On multi-processors use at most..." and set your preference. Hope that helps.
