Hi There, I have boinc version 4.19 running on my Linux server running Debian 3.1. I have notiched that when I restart the server, Climateprediction of often "crasches" and downloads a new file to work on... Any ideas why? and how to awoid the problem (don't tell me not to restart the server). Bent |

Wherever possible you should try to close BOINC manually before restarting the server Bent. If BOINC is forcibly closed during a file write you could end up with things in an unrecoverable state where the only option for CPDN is to crash the model. I don't have much knowledge of Linux, yet, so could you tell me, how do I close BOINC, without using: ps aux | grep boinc then finding hasdsm or boinc and then kill "number" That's the only way I know right now, and I guess that it would also force it to stop right away? |
