This could go under the preference topic, but I think it belongs here more. Today, with the server/scheduler problems, multiple posts have been made about the same problem, mostly in the Windows forum. It would seem that people are either not reading the other posts (if they were, they would be posting in already created topics), or that the defaults of the forum to list "most frequently asked" questions first, creates problems for people searching for answers about recently ongoing problems. In my opinion, the default for the forum preferences should be either to list "most recent answer first" or "most recent question first". This would make it much more likely that new people coming into the project would see topics about recent problems, and either learn something from them, or be able to post in a topic already created instead of creating the 14 topics today about the same problem. When I change my preferences to "most frequently asked first", it brings up a list of topics that are old, most of which have nothing to do with either important recurrent and/or recent problems on the forum. |

Me too :) One thought. Questions could be forced closer to the top of the 'most frequently asked' list if we all adopted the habit of clicking on the 'I also have this question' button every time we see a new question with an answer that deserves to be promoted.
