I have realised that during the last days the project returns this message when tried to connect: "Message from server: Invalid or missing acount key. Visit this project´s web site to get an account key." I tried to re-log de project and BOINC gives this other message: "Already attached to...." The problem also is that I have the project in 2 computers and in the other one i don´t have any problems. What i have to do? Thanks. |

Problems like this are usually because the server does not recognise the account key. Perhaps you accidentally added a space at the beginning or end of the account key when you copied it when attaching your second computer. You can try attaching again from the BOINC window. In BOINC ver 4.19 and earlier you do that, of course, from 'settings', in 4.2x from the projects tab. There is another way, by editing your client_state.xml file. That needs a lot of care, and it may be best to ask again if you find you need to do that. |

I have a similar problem. When I looked more closely at the messages I noticed that Boinc was trying to connect to Predictor instead of Climate prediction. This didn't worry me too much because I had a similar problem a month or so back, with all my projects trying to connect to the wrong schedulers. On advice I recieved from one of the forums I updated all projects and everything eventually returned to normal. This time that remedy doesn't seem to be working, it's nearly 4 days since I've been able to connect. I checked my client state xml file and noticed it has 2 scheduler url's listed for climate prediction, one the corect one and the other for predictor. I tried deleting the extra line without success, is there some other way to remove it or should I just detach then reatach, or persevere and hope it eventually fixes itself?. Btw i'm running v4.25 on an Athlon 2800+ with windows XP sp2. Thanks for any help. |

I presume you stopped BOINC before making the change Rob. Recent changes to the way BOINC handles the master.html file (which returns the scheduler URLs for a project) should hopefully prevent this from happening. I believe this change is included in the 4.27 development release. "The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer |

I believe this change is included in the 4.27 development release. Yeah I exited BOINC. the trouble is my computer opens the file in internet explorer, which means I'm unable to edit it. Is there some other program that will open it and allow me to edit? Foget it, I worked out how to edit it. I feel like such an idiot, I didn't even think to right click. Although it's still telling me that no schedulers responded. |

Andrew, I tried another time to add the account key, and I'm sure that there isnét a blank space at the begging or at the end of both lines (acconunt key and project URL). The problem also is that the problem is with my first computer, that works perfect during more than 4 months, and now i have this problem. The second computers works correctly and i use this one to compare the .xml file and both are exactly the same. My first computer has the windows xp SP1, 4.25 boinc version all on a AMD 2600+. |

I too am having the same exact problem with Climate Prediction on BOINC. However, when it tries to connect, mine says its connecting to Seti's website. I'm not even sure where to go after this point. I hate to lose the work unit I'm on now because I am over 150 hours in to it. But the last trickle I got was a couple weeks ago I think. |
