I don't know what the -2 errors are. Before this you were getting -5 errors. It may be worth trying some stability tests see here.

Message 11623 - Posted: 5 Apr 2005, 13:10:07 UTC - in response to Message 11591.

I have also the problems with error -2 and -5 with hsdsm Version 4.10 and 4.12 with Boinc 4.19 and 4.25. The computer has no problems with WU from Einstein@Hme and Predictor@Home.
The computer seems to be hanging after the crash. Sometimes I am not able to shutdown the system (GUI or from the shell).

There have been some issues with Windows 98 & Win NT and also with Linux. I think the Linux one is supposed to be reverted to a working version now called 4.13. I'm afraid I've lost track of the Win 98 situation - it may still exist with 4.12 or maybe that is only with the sulphur cycle alpha.

Message 11643 - Posted: 6 Apr 2005, 0:18:20 UTC - in response to Message 11591.

I am running the BOINC versions of SETI@home and of Einstein@home, as well as climate prediction. I started getting the error -5 at the weekend, when the V4.12 software was downloaded.

I am running a Dell laptop with a Windows XP build that is my company's standard build. I can't do hardware tuning as suggested, because any attempt by me to open the case will void support agreements :(

Is there anything I can do other than leave the Climate Prediction project?

I'm running HADSM v4.10 with CC v4.26 on AMD AthlonXP 1900+ with 512MB RAM. I haven't experienced any of the problems you've been having with HADSM v4.10.

The only things that I would suggest to all CPDN users is to watch your temperatures. BOINC projects drive CPU temps sky high!!!
