The Boinc dev folks are pusing 4.25 now, but I see CPDN only offers 4.19 as a download still. Does CPDN recommend 4.25 ? Should I upgrade in the middle of a CPDN model ? I had a thorough serach in all the CPDn forums but found no refernece to 4.25 - even tried quoting and escaping the numbers, the period, etc. Thanks ! |

CPDN will work with the CCv4.25 in most cases. The major exception is ATI cards seem to have trouble with the graphics on the new version. It is recomended with this project to make a backup just in case. Uninstall the old version (installer incompatiblities) and install the new version. It should pick up where it left off. I've moved with the dev versions and am currently using v4.27 which is quite hapilly crunching CPDN on one system. This was also upgraded from v4.26 and previous versions without any problems when done mid unit, though I did wait for my phase 3 one to complete before I made the move from v4.19 to v4.22 many moons ago. I would however, make a copy of the entire BOINC directory BEFORE you uninstall v4.19! You'll need to do this before installing the new version as the two installers (Windows at least) are incompatible with each other. Hope this helps |

No problem upgrading from 4.19 to 4.25, I did that last night on one of my machines and it picked up where it had left. Yes, do backup first, just in case... :-) Incidentally, it also did speed up processing times for folding WUs, which I am running on the same computer alongside BOINC... :-D
***********************************
WinXP Home, P4 3.2GHz HT, 512Mb RAM.
