Understand for possible future reference it is good to save CP WU files. Is it necessary to save the entire contents of the BOINC 'projects' file or just the zipped WU files?

Hi Michael,

If you're talking about completed results then you only need the directory with the zipped result files (and you can safely delete the directory after doing the backup).

If you're talking about your current running model(s) then you will need to backup the BOINC directory too as the client_state.xml file contains the record of the models you're running. Restoring client_state.xml from the backup isn't a problem if you're only running CPDN (you might get a new host ID because of a mismatch in the scheduler request count) but isn't as simple if you're running other projects.
