i installed BOINC a couple of days ago (Windows XP), and all I get as a "screensaver" is "BOINC is not running. Please launch BOINC to display graphics". Can anyone tell me how to fix it?

Did you "Attach" to the Project? In version 4.19, click on boinc "Settings" tab to find the option. (Not sure about 4.25 but it's surely in the big blue area somewhere.) Click on "Attach..." and follow the instructions and you'll be in business. (Copy/paste the URL and your account code from your boinc/CPDN Registration.)

Or, click Model download from the menu on the left of this page. (Edit: I assumed that you created a CPDN Account. ... If not, this option will provide that opportunity and set you along the proper path; start with the red notice at the top -- Or click "Create an Account" on the left.)

By the way, depending on your type of computer and graphics card, the display can use a lot of computer power, as much as half in some cases. Many of us don't use the screensaver option; too expensive. We use manual display instead, and that sparingly. (In 4.19, right click on the active Run in "Work" tab.)

If you have trouble downloading a Model, it could be because of disk-usage settings in your profile. If so, you can do a search or check the FAQ, or come back here.
