Hi, I recently install a ADSL Router and had a new connexion to the Internet: But since this moment, BOINC client cant connect and i have thie kind of message :
climateprediction.net - 2005-04-19 20:42:12 - Deferring communication with project for 5 days, 3 hours, 30 minutes, and 47 seconds
Do i must configure something somewhere ?
My system : Win XP Pro SP2,

It is quite likely that your router has a firewall and perhaps other security settings, and these could be blocking access to climateprediction.net (as well as any firewall in Windows). Sometimes systems are set up with a proxy server (see the FAQ in the menu on the left), though probably not in your case.

It is difficult to give general advice about connection settings, but can you see any other message about why it is deferring communication? Look in the stderr.txt file of the BOINC folder. Also, your router software may have its own log, or facility to create one.

If you find difficulty getting to grips with the problem, tell us which router you are using and someone may be able to guide you.

Also, you may have a large number of trickle files in your CPDN folder of the BOINC projects folder. You should look at <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2811">this thread</a>.

At the moment there are server problems affecting the recording of trickles but they are unlikely to be the cause of the difficuties you are experiencing.

It is also very likely that one of the cp servers has been down for a couple of days. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.
