Hi, I loaded BOINC and transferred my account from the "classic" and, like before, I just let the program run which it has been doing for a few months. Today I checked on the Web and found that I am credited with having 25PCs. (I wish!). No idea why as nothing has changed since I first d/loaded BOINC. Also, I show 2 X climate predicition projects sharing 50:50 and 14 items in my work page. The message page shows that all but 2 of the work activities are being done sharing one hour for eaach. I am running nothing else under BOINC Is this Ok or am I wasting CPU time? TIA Cheers Bernie PS BOINC = 4.19 PC = Pent 4 with XP home. |

You have 65 listed now, you need to merge them and update the CC to the next version.... <a href=\"http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page\">Link to Unofficial Wiki for BOINC, by Paul and Friends</a> |

You have several results with Exit status -185 (0xffffff47), message="One or more missing files" Did you install BOINC as admin and run it as a normal user now so it couldn't create a file? Especially the client_state.xml or client_state_next.xml file must be locked somehow, I cannot imagine any other reason why it would create new host entries all the time. Another thing you could try is exclude the BOINC directory from beeing scanned for viruses, BOINC is quite picky with files that it cannot lock exclusively. p.s.: BOINC 4.19 works well for me, I think you should find the problem rather than upgrading to a 4.2x version. Currently many people have still trouble with 4.2x whereas 4.19 - besides some missing features - ist quite stable. |

Clicking this will list all other hosts, that might be "clones" of the one you clicked. You can now check which ones to merge (probably "select all" of them) and then click the "merge" button. This should combine the computers lossless - but if I was you, I would rather wait with this task until the systems are back to normal operation, i.e. trickle count working, stats update and so. If there's a database problem now, the risk is too high to loose something. |

Hi Bernie To start with, I agree with Ananas when he says DON'T DO ANYTHING NOW. There is a problem at Oxford which is messing up the data on peoples Account page. It means that the info you see there is not uptodate. This should be fixed soon. And, as well as the 'extra' computers, you seen to be running two models on two computers each: 2hoj_300137404_0 is on 153127 and also 155156 and 2gez_300135747_0 is on 153127 and also 152869 You only have one processor, so you should only run one model at a time. Using BOINC to run 2 will slow things down. When the server problem has been sorted out, we can see about sorting out your problems. This may be as simple as waiting until your present models have finished, and then letting BOINC deal with it. And upgrading BOINC may make this easier. And then we can sort out merging your "computers". In the meantime, there is some info you can provide that will help: How many computers do you actually have? Which version of BOINC? This will be shown in the gui under Help. Which brand of graphics card? If it's an ATI, upgrading to a newer version of BOINC may be a bad idea. But we'll see. For now, just keep crunching. Les |
