CPDN on my computer is having problems connecting to server, and has been like that for a couple of days now, i suppose. I now realize I cannot connect to the http://climateprediction.net URL, only to the direct oxford site. Is there anything currently wrong with the domain? And is there any alternate URL I can use to connect to server?

Might help if I include the log entry. This is what comes back whenever I try to manually update:

4/30/2005 7:19:40 AM|climateprediction.net|Master file fetch failed
4/30/2005 7:19:40 AM|climateprediction.net|Deferring communication with project for 4 days, 4 hours, 27 minutes, and 6 seconds

Hello Benjamin,

yes, ther is a problem. They are simply offline, and it's a long weekend in Britain.

Look in <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2471">this thread</a>.

Odd... I have two computers that are successfully updating with climateprediction.net and one that is failing with the Master file fetch failed/Deferring communication message.

Different files go to different servers at different locations.

Reading the urls from my client_state.xml file, trickles go to Oxford, some completed zips go to Oxford
on a different server, and some go to Bern. And downloads appear to come from a 3rd server at Oxford.

So it depends on what else the messages are saying.
England should be open for business again on Tuesday, and hopefully, Tolu will get things sorted out.

Someone must be working over there as the main climateprediction.net site is up now.

Looks like we were lucky this time. Just a few days down.
Maybe the OU had a 'scheduled down time' for maintainence over the long weekend.

Doesn't CPDN users at least deserve a single line explanation why most of the services were unavailable for "just a few days"?
How many additional users will have to leave project before team starts communication with it's users again?

Sorry to be rude and I'm sad to says so but CPDN project is stagnating recently [and I'm in since May 2003].
