Currently as I am writing this note I am connected to the URL http://climateprediction.com/. NOTICE: .COM not .NET. Right now this is the only way I am able to get to your site. It looks like there may be a DNS problem. I get a "cannot find server or DNS error" when connecting to http://www.climateprediction.net. I cannot use any link that has the .net URL path.

I originally linked to this site from the Bionic site and it didn't work. I just tried the .com extension and got here.

the main CPDN site (which is not at Oxford, but at Open U in Milton Keynes UK) is down.

You can still run a BOINC/CPDN project by attaching to this URL (instead of climateprediction.net from your email):

Look in <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2471">this thread</a> as well.

I have also been trying since Saturday to get new work after replacing Boinc with 4.19 and deciding to start afresh.
Still I have rediscovered Setiathome and have been running that while I waited for the server to come back up.
I have now thanks to Saengar's tip, received CPDN work. I now have to decide whether to be purely CPDN again or share with Seti.

Would there be a problem updating to BOINC 4.25 offered on the Seti site?

Shouldn't be if you uninstall your current version then install 4.25 into the same boinc directory. However, if you have an ATI Radeon type card with recent drivers, the project graphics don't usually work with BOINC 4.25.

&gt;Hi Carl,
Can I reattach to this URL you posted, without losing the WU I am presently crunching? If so, is there any trick to it?

Thank You In Advance,

Rocky

I have to return a WU I just completed. If I could be sure I am not going to lose my WU I would reattach... otherwise, I can just be patient and wait till Tuesday... :-)

Hi, atotos,

Shouldn't be a problem with the upload servers. My five machines (HT P4s) sent five runs up since the weekend started, without problem. (Two more to go today, I hope.)

Reattach? A backup before doing that would be in order, if you haven't already done so.

Edit: Just looked at your Website. Seven weeks in hospital! A particularly nasty fall, indeed! Hope all is normal again.

Thanks, astroWX! I keep getting this message
climateprediction.net - 2005-05-01 20:30:45 - Master file fetch failed
climateprediction.net - 2005-05-01 20:30:45 - Deferring communication with project for 1 weeks, 1 days, 15 hours, 54 minutes, and 1 seconds

I think I will just wait till Tuesday. It's my new HT laptop that has done model 2gd8_200135684_0 in 441:26:35 hours, which for me it's excellent! So as I am crunching for a lot of other projects as well, I am quite glad to wait. My Win2k machine is running another model, so some CPDN is being crunched anyway... :-)

(Yes, starting to feel a bit better thanks, it will take a while to be fighting fit again... patience is one of the most important virtues around ;-) )
