A couple of friends and I are building a dual Opteron server that won\'t have any immediate usage, so I figured we could set it to work on CPDN for a couple of months while it\'s up but not doing much. I\'m a little confused about how we would go about getting a custom version to take advantage of the 64 bit architecture. Downloading a nightly snapshot of the BOINC source from after August 5th should give us an optimally compiled version of BOINC, but what can I do about the hadsm model? On my current Windows system BOINC just downloads the hadsm exe\'s by itself - would BOINC on this server download some Linux executables, or the source to hadsm to be compiled? Sorry if this is outlined on one of the sites, I had a read around last night but couldn\'t make head nor tail of it :o) ~ wogone.com ~ |

Hi there, Carl would propably say more about this topic but it think that human resources are now concentrated on fixing bugs and making Win, Linux and MacOS client stable, improving forum etc. 64-bit version is, however, something we should be looking for. Some discussion can bee found on 'classic' forum there http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=1825&highlight=64+bit |
