I've just completed a CPDN run on Boinc 4.19 GUI, and then reinstalled Boinc from scratch, using 4.35 GUI. I re-attached to all my projects (LHC, Einstein etc) and all went well, each one downloaded about a couple of days of work. Then attached to CPDN, and it appears to have downloaded 2 runs, each of estimated 600+ hours. This seems way too much, I won't finish the first one for 2 or 3 months, no point giving me a second one, and it seems to break the rule about how much work to assign. I intend to abort the 2nd one, using 4.35's nifty new feature for Aborting. Any comments ? Greg E. (Windows XP SP2. Boinc 4.35.) |

I don't know what's going on, but this 'feature' is also mentioned here. Les |

BOINC makes the decision on when to request new work. You can safely keep the second model as a pending job because the reporting deadline for both models is April 16 2005. "The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer |

>I've had this too, but I've just seen that the first unit is not registered to me in the database, and although the trickles are succeeding, I'm not getting any credit for it. CPDN thinks it sent me a different work unit, and that someone else was sent the one I am crunching. So I'm going to have to abandon it. I have several machines, and this seems to have happened on just the first of them which I converted to 4.35. (posted by Him Upstairs. NOT Spit_the Dog :)... who was asleep at the time !) My Host Id is 79142, I'm running Work Id 547984 which CPND thinks is allocated to Host 162865 (not me!), and CPDN thinks Ive got Work Id 544124. I first noticed this because the new statistics graph in 4.35 is flat for this host. |

This is similar to what happened to pindakoe here. This problem of data being allocated to the wrong host, might be related to missing trickles: they're going to, or trying to go to, the wrong host's files. *** Oxford, We have a problem! *** Les |
