I get the error: Couldn't create host record in database. I recently had a hard drive crash. I'm finally back up, but the old HD is completely lost. I have what I think is the newest version of BOINC 4.25. Could someone help me fix this?

The database and/or the file system currently have a severe problem, nearly nothing is working as it should.

You should not try to fix it on your computer now as the problem probably is not on your side, better wait until the CPDN server systems are back to normal.

If you have a backup :

Moving the model to the new HD is quite easy, just install the same BOINC version you had before but do not attach it to any project - this will create the registry entries for you.

Then copy the backup files into the BOINC directory, overwriting the already existing files. It will not need to create a new host ID then as it still has the old one in the client_state.xml file
