I just updated to BOINC 4.40 on a WinXP Pro with all updates, etc. This is a Dell 3.1 GHz with hyper-threading. Up until now, I had not experienced any real problems with BOINC or Climate Predictions. I also run S@H and E@H. My computer runs 24/7.

This morning I found an error message posted on my monitor, This is the link to the error message:

AFAIK this error doesn't always lead to the WU being aborted.
In this optimistic case, you'll be able the continue after discarding the
message box.
Future versions of the app would further suppress std error logging
Could happen if another process ( e.g virus sw) holds a lock on the output file
