My first model ran 27 years then I had a hardware disaster (motherboard died) which corrupted the hard disc. The last backup was the previous day, but after rebuilding, and restoring all the files I had (which includes about 800MB in dataout) it restarts at about year 3 (in 1822). Seems a shame to throw away all that work - what has gone wrong/missing?

1822 should be year 12 of phase 1, since the model started in December 1810. So you're saying you were at year 1837 when it crashed?

Sorry about the delay replying, been away. My mistake, I read 1810 as 1819. Yes it was at 1837, but now it restarts at 1822. 12 years into phase 1 instead of phase 2 - wonder if that's significant?

Further to my reply a few days ago, I let it carry on from 1822. But when it completed phase 1, instead of starting phase 2 it started again right back at the beginning!

In the log file, between the two, I find:

GMTS: Error: Time variable found, but values not found (tdimlen was 0)

which is repeated 50 or so times, then it says:

GMTS: Error: Time var2005-06-06 15:49:57 [climateprediction.net] Unrecoverable error for result 2hd0_200136985_1 (process got signal 11)

then lots of downloading, creating and inflating, so I suppse that's where it gave up. Oh well...
