Installed in the last week but icon is not in the 'tray'& when clicked on in 'Start' it appears brifly in tray then disappears?

PC OS is Win XP Pro with 2000Ghz overclocked AMD chip & 480 RAM with 2/3's free space on the hard drive.

Tried uninstalling & repeating without success.

Previously had Classic version of CPDN which stalled after a year, so I removed it.

Any help to get started would be appreciated but please note that I am not a computer techy so keep it simple if possible.

Since you recently had troubles with Classic, now troubles with BOINC, I would try getting rid of the overclock for now and see if it will do what it's supposed to do.

You may want to try the <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2124">hardware maintenance tips</a> and make sure the insides of your PC are clean. Also, the <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2126">hardware tests</a> may point to some problem.

I'd also suggest not running the boinc screen saver/visualization if you have that set to come up automatically.
