All Radeons use ATI chipsets (and thus drivers), it's just the card itself is manufactured by another company. So with ATI chipsets and drivers, it will display the same problems as ATI manufactured cards.

if you really want to be able to "see" something, use the advanced visualization package. I have an ATI card on the laptop and after upgrading to 4.25 I use the package. I don't run the screensaver anyway...

I liked the screensaver, too, even if I rarely used it. I hope they will fix the problem with ATI cards in a future BOINC release... :)

I have the same problem. I do hope they fix this graphics bug. as it is I don't have any progress display apart from the one line in boinc manager sayin x.xx% complete.

The Adv Vis is something I installed, then uninstalled. I don't -need- an advanced analysis tool (that's terribly slow, eats memory, and takes away from actually calculating on the model), just a basic display of what it's doing!

So please CPDN team, fix this bug??

As it happens, one of the criteria I use to distribute resource share is whether or not there is a working screensaver. I have allocated CPDN and Einstein less resource share until they come up with a screensaver that works with my ATI card. I'm sure others will either pull out or reduce their share if this is not fixed soon, as the screensavers are a major attraction.

Please fix.

See Carl's post http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2879

Think the inbuilt visualisation does that too.

Maybe you want something like CPFarmView?
http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~sykesm/cpdn.html
a display of global average temperature is a very basic display of what your model is doing. No time consuming (nor pretty) graphics.

I am not sure whether this works with boinc yet.

I think you meant CPView Chris.

It does on my system, but a few have reported problems with the installation.
