Does any one knows what with the platform not found errors?

I mean all the othe boinc clients (setiboinc, proteinathome etc) are all showing the same errors.

None of them uploaded the finished results nor download any new workunits.

cpdn is still churning as the example log below but not uploading either. last upload was May 10 2005.

boinc.err doesn't show anything though.

i'm running a self-compiled boinc 4.44 i686-redhat-linux-gnu

Oh yeah I did the -return_results_immediately, -update_prefs but so far still same errors

any ideas?

Had you self-compiled previous versions of boinc and everything was okay?

ouch!!... after some more surfing and googling I solved the
problem.

cd boinc_public
./configure --bla bla
then vi config.h
somewhere on line 300ish

/* Host for this compilation */
#define HOSTTYPE "i686-redhat-linux-gnu"

replace redhat with pc

/* Host for this compilation */
#define HOSTTYPE "i686-pc-linux-gnu"

that should do it.

This page helps too.

http://noether.vassar.edu/~myers/help/boinc/boinc-on-linux.html

by eric myers et. al. I think.

To answer geophi question: the answer is yes. YMMV but I see some
improvements over the downloaded version. I'm happy so far.

hope this would help someone

Oh BTW next time I'll try to google first :)

Thanks
