My computer was repeatedly running phase 1, instead of moving on to phase 2. Advised that this might be a hardware problem I defragged and checked my hard disk, and then ran the Prime95 torture test for 24 hours - without problems. I also reinstalled BOINC, using 4.43 the recommended client on the BOINC website. Now I have two work units, one running and one suspended. Also, when I check my account it show two computer IDs, although there's definitely only one processor on my PC. I suspect that when I finish the current work unit my PC will switch to the second work unit, and that this will be another phase1 Does anyone else have this situation, and is it a problem? |

A bug in 4.43 can cause a second workunit to be downloaded. It is fixed in 4.44. Having 2 workunits will not really cause a problem unless you will not be able to do both before the deadline. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

You may be able to merge the 2 computerids via your account. You are not alone in getting 1073741819 errors. Not easily tracked down - it might be a Windows stop message. You might try backing up your BOINC folder just before you reach 33.33% so that you can try more than once. |
