Hi all,

I have a computer that's behind a firewall which I don't admin and I believe the firewall stops the uploads of the my completed WUs. I would like to copy the completed WUs over to another computer and upload them.

Is this possible?
If so, how would I go about doing this (which files need to be modified etc)?

A lot depends on whether that other computer is already running BOINC. If it isn't, then you need to copy the whole BOINC folder to the new machine and install BOINC into that folder. It is recommended that you zip the folder (onto USB drive or CD) and unzip onto the other machine. Otherwise if you copied onto CD for the transfer the files would become read only which is not what you want.

If your other machine is already running BOINC, that is much more complicated. If that is the case ask for further help.

Yeah sorry I forgot to say that both computers are running BOINC and CPDN (as well as seti, lhc, etc), and both currently have an active CPDN WU crunching.

I have a technical background so I understand XML etc, I just don't know what to change the config files settings to.

Moving a WU from one host to another is either difficult or impossible. You can however move a host to another computer to allow it to upload. Moving the whole boinc folder should be possible. So move the BOINC directory on the communicating computer. Copy the BOINC folder from the other computer to the usual place on the comunicating computer. Run BOINC and the WU should then upload. Then replace the proper BOINC folder for that machine.

I am not sure if this will cause new host identities to be created so you may want some more knowledable person to comment further on this.
