My computer finished WU 253394 weeks ago but in the results my contribution to this Wu appears as in progress. Granted credit is 6805.26, the same of other contributors with server state over and client state done. This are my computer data: IP address XXXX (same the last 271 times) Domain name rgiral Time zone UTC +1 hours Name rgiral Created 28 Sep 2004 10:56:32 UTC Total Credit 7599.21 Recent average credit 19.13 CPU type GenuineIntel Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.80GHz Number of CPUs 1 Operating System Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Edition, Service Pack 4, (05.00.2195.00) |

It's possible that user 267566 was credited with finishing the model, due to the mis-allocation problem. Click on Result id 267567, and then on workunit 253394, (near the top), to see the list of people who have worked on this model. Judging by the cpu times, you seem to have done most of the work, but 267566 got there first. You can read the discussion about this here, and here. Les |

There are 5 results for the workunit and all were downloaded to a unique host. The credits are allocated by the trickle at the end of phase 3, not by the uploading of the results. There are 2 possible reasons why the result is in that state. 1) The result files haven't been uploaded yet. Check if any of the files 30c1_000161816_2_1.zip to 30c1_000161816_2_5.zip are in your projects/climateprediction.net directory. If they are the upload hasn't completed yet, possibly due to firewall restrictions. 2) If the result files aren't on your system it's likely that the result completion message went missing during the period when database updates were occasionally timing out. It's the uploaded result files rather than the server and client states that are important to the project team, so as long as those files have gone from your system there's no need to worry.
Join us here |

If there are no occurrences of 30c1_000161816 in your client_state.xml file it'll be the recent server database update problem and the result is definitely completed as far as your client is concerned.
Join us here |

Two hours to go, and then I will find out all the secrets of BOINC activities subsequent to completion, given thatr there is a model (actually two models) waiting. I am interested in your comments. jehop > |

John, I noticed that you have 2 trickles to go. Best advice I can give is to backup the entire BOINC folder an hour or so before it is due to complete. Suspend BOINC first, as there is a lockfile which causes a problem if you don't. And DON'T look at the viz near the completion, or run other programs, including AVs etc. Some people's computers only seem to need the slightest excuse to fail at phase change, which includes end of model. I have gottten into the habbit of uploading a trickle from the alternate processor an hour or so before hand, so that I get a new data set for the one that's about to finish, and THEN doing a backup, so that I have an unused set to restart with if it crashes near the start, but so far I've not needed it. You already have a new model set, so that's not needed. Mine finishes about 2am Saturday. I'll have to set my alarm. Les |

John, I just realised that you said two hours, which means you should have 71 trickles. I've looked, and you are missing timestep 237644 from phase 1. This means that you won't get 'success' at the end. If you're quick, you can make up a substitute for the missing trickle, and upload it before completion. I'd suggest you modify this: [variety]orig[/variety] [wu]2bsp_300129703[/wu] [ph]1[/ph] [ts]237644[/ts] [cp]903951[/cp] You will have to replace the square brackets with greater than/less than. And use this for a file name: trickle_up_2bsp_300129703_1_1111111111 I'm just guessing at all the 1s Les |
