Two of my Windows PCs seem to crunch for a minute or 2 and then exit with error 5 and 108 and -2. The whole work unit is aborted and I cannot the get another as I have reached my download limit of 1 or 2. Any ideas what might be causing this error please?

-108 is ERR_FOPEN

Since you mentioned moving a WU, did you use a CD? If so, files may have been set to read only. That would explain an FOPEN error I think. Doesn't explain it with new WUs though.

-5 is a catch all for computation error.

(I think I have seen -2 with Win 98 systems but that does not appear to apply.)

+5 and +108 are unknown to me.

Sorry that is not much use. Have you tried some stability tests such as http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2126 ?

Hi thanks for coming back. This was not part of any move of a WU btw....i decided to defer that for a while. This was a new box (to CPDN) that was running seti but ran out of work over the weekend. I will follow the link and see where it takes me. Its just so strange that I can have 4 PCs running it and this one just plain refuses. Oh well......thanks for your pointer.
