I read from http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/quick_faq.php that you are supposed to exit Boinc before shutting down windows. I once used a script to make a backup of my files before shutting down the computer. I placed a shortcut to this script to the start menu and used it every time I wanted to power off (instead of using the normal \"turn off computer\" link). I was wondering if a similar script could be used with Boinc? Perhaps someone who knows the command line parameters could make a script which first closes Boinc properly and then closes Windows. See this thread. It would seem that there was an earlier problem, but that from 4.25 onwards it is corrected. I never knew about the problem, and always shut down normally without issue.
-------------
Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream.

|
