Hi, I really like the options to change the info in the display window you get with Show Graphics from the BOINC Manager, e.g., W to make a world view. But a *big* pity you can\'t configure the screensaver from my preferences (like you can with SETI@Home). Anyway, I figured, what if I change the display in a Show Graphics window to the world view, and then quit the window, does the change persist for the screensaver? The answer is: yes but the screensaver world view is very dark. It\'s as if it\'s rendering the whole world as if in shadow, like it renders the edge of the disk when showing the world as a globe in the default view. I tried hitting \"B\" in the Show Graphics window but I can\'t work out what difference that actually makes. Interestingly, the first time I do \"W\" in the Show Graphics window, it renders the whole world in uniform brightness. If I allow the screensaver to kick in, it renders the whole world in uniform darkness. If I then invoke the Show Graphics window again, this time it\'s in uniform darkness. Any ideas? |

I'm not sure about your problem. It may be your graphics card, it's drivers, something to do with BOINC, etc. However, it is recommended to run without a screen saver of any sort, as the sc uses a fair bit of cpu time, which could be better spent crunching. Les |
