After my previous problems with the error message, I decided to detach, uninstall and reinstall everything. I am currently not able to attach to the project. The message says to check my account ID, but I can log in fine on the website. It seems like I am either doing something wrong, or there is a problem with my account on the server. |

The 2 most likely causes are a typo/space and that the server is having issues. <br>John Keck BOINCing since 2002/12/08 |

One thing I noticed is that somehow, I had about 15 computers listed. I just merged them all into my original. I then tried to attach again and it created another. Could this all be related? This computer hasn't changed since I first joined. |

You may have a firewall that is letting the request out but not letting the reply in. Check your firewall settings and give it some time in case it is an internet glitch. <br>John Keck BOINCing since 2002/12/08 |

Having said that though, I did try disabling it and I am still not able to attach. I restored a backup of the file "account_climateprediction.net.xml" from my previous install and all I get from it is the "Cannot parse scheduler reply, bad first tag" error message which has been going on for quite a while now. I have Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed, but I have its firewall disabled. Currently, I am at a loss to get this working again. Any other suggestions? |

I believe I've cracked this one: I just checked & there was newer BOINC software than the version I was running. I had v3.20 & the newest is v4.05. I installed v4.05 & tried attaching to the ClimatePrediction.net Project & it worked fine. For reference I'm running Windows XP Pro SP1 with the XP firewall turned on & it worked fine that way. |
