Hi there, haven't been around for a while but I'm back now... If anyone's interested, there is now a BOINC compatible version (2.5) of CPView available for download from my website: <a href="http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~sykesm/cpdn.html">Martin's CPDN Site</a> The boinc version of CPFarmView will probably be ready some time next week. Please read the installation instructions on the page as it's important where some files are located. Martin |

Great to hear from you. :D :D :D and very glad CPView is getting continuing development :D :D :D Just a couple of updates for your website: Climate Prediction .Net or CPDN for short is a distributed computing (DC) project running on approximately 12000 home PCs worldwide - it will hopefully be more soon as the project moves to the BOINC platform. make that 30,000 home PCs worldwide mainly on the BOINC platform. CPView now fully supports the BOINC platform. (Zipped = 527Kb) should be (Zipped = 759Kb) The project as a whole is well past 2 million! should be The project as a whole is past 7 million! |

Thanks much Martin! Glad to see you, and CPView back in action. :D Edit...in addition to crandles' suggested website changes...on the CPView page... "Realtime data direct from the CPDN model. (Non-BOINC users only)" Non-BOINC users only can be removed. For active data in multiple layers, it appears mid-cloud is working now, but you may want to check it out yourself. Another entry could now be made for development history. |

Good to see you back on the Boards, Martin. Tried the new version with CPDN Sulfur Alpha. It correctly reported Phase 4 (of 5), TS 216793, 17 June 1868, with live Surface Temperatures. Also reported, over several TS, Global Mean Temperatures ranging from 15.99C to 16.76C. Received an improper link message when trying to change displayed files. Probably something in my installation; I'll look into it next week after a few days away. Nicely done! Thanks. ___________________________________________ |

Welcome back, Martin. For sure many CPDN uses will appreacite the BOINC support for CPView. Unfortunatelly, I'm having trouble running CPView - still getting errors "CPDNSHMEM.DLL not available". Not running BOINC in default folder; having CPView and mentioned DLL in \projects\climateprediction.net, still getting erros upon startup. CPView eventually gets the live feed and monitoring is active. When i hit M1, CPView crash. It does crash on every exit as well. _________________________ <i>Everyday i wished classic phpBB forum being back and after 60 prayers, all are </i><a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board">invited</a> |

I'm seeing the same errors in Sulphur Alpha, but it's working OK for me in regular BOINC CPDN. |

Hi there, I'll have a look in more detail tomorrow but the problem is likely that I added boinc but haven't removed the old classic code. the cpdnshmem.dll is the 'classic' shared memory. I guess you could copy it from another machine for now but I'll try and find all the places it is used to properly disable it if you only have the boinc version installed. Martub |

I've packaged the whole lot up with installshield. Unfortunately it's three times the size now, but it should install all the required files to the correct locations, making life much easier. For those of you who have installed to strange locations, you can set the BOINCDirectory value in the .ini file to point to where the .xml files live. the new download link is: <a href="http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~sykesm/docs/CPViewSetup.exe">CPView2.5</a> |

Where have you installed BOINC to? You can set BOINCDirectory to something like c:\\\\program files\\\\boinc\\\\projects\\\\climateprediction.net The double backslashes are important! |

> The new version copies all the files into one folder and the working directory should be left pointing to that. Yes, it is so. >Where have you installed BOINC to? You can set BOINCDirectory to something like c:program filesboincprojectsclimateprediction.net > The double backslashes are important! Thanks for reminding me of the double backslashes. But still no luck with .ini file; I have tested with quotes as well (since there is a space character in folder name. Version 2.6 is now packaged and ready to download - Graphics is faster and cleaner More world cities added BOINC support improved NOTE: This has been built with a new version of the compiler so if anyone has problems on different platforms, please let me know! PS. Honza, I couldn't see any obvious reason why it wouldn't work for you unless it's because you're on a different drive. You don't need the quotes though. Try installing CPView onto X: as well to see if that helps. |
