Hi, I am running your climateprediction sw for few months and what I noticed (already am running the 3-rd round of simulations) is that if after the 1st run and sentding back the results, the program emptied the HDD space, after the second run it didnt, so I increased the HDD space from 1GByte to two, and now at the third run, I alocated 3 GB and the alocated space is full again!! And it seems that now it just uses the computer memory for storage which slows down alot my computer!! Can you specify, which is the recomanded HDD space for running your application and check why the program do not empty the HDD after finishing a job and after sending back the results to you?? I have seen that after the second round of simulations, it freed only few hundred MB, while ocupying them back after running only 50% of the task. Also the time needed to compleate the simulation exceeds alot the estimated one given at the start of the porject! |

You may want to take a look at: CP data retention thread. Only 6MB of 330MB (compressed) is returned. 330 left per full model. Can take up to 750MB just before completion and compression. So 3GB shouldn't be full. You should have 2*330+upto 750 + some for program files etc. So no more than 1.5 GB if you are on your 3rd model. Very occasionally (twice I think), I hear of people who get the daily .da files being saved instead of deleted. Most files should be ?????a.p???c10 style, have you got lots of files with a d instead of the p in that position? Oh wait a minute forget that because you have completed 6 models and are crunching your 7th and 8th so you can easily have filled 3GB. See the link given above for what you can do about the retained data. Memory:If you ctrl-alt-del to bring up task manager, how much memory use is shown for the 2 hadsm processes? (I get 50292K and 8184K.) |
