I have been running CP without much problem on Windows PC for a good while, but I recently purchased my first Mac (a Mac mini). I\'ve been trying to get BOINC/CP working on the machine but to no avail.

I have tried the suggested fix by Clay recommended in other questions, but it doesn\'t appear to have improved matters.

One of he error messages I am getting is \"gethostbyname failed\" - would this cause the system not to work? If so, how can I fix it? I have specified a name under the MAC OS system configuration, but my knowledge of MAC OS is pretty much nil, so I could have done something wrong.

All help gratefully appreciated.

Patience is indeed a virtue!

I left it alone for a couple of days and now it is indeed calculating. It hasn't shown an error message for a while, but it has today downloaded another work unit whilst it is only 3.6% of the way through the unit it already has. I'm sure there is some *good* reason for it, so hey, so long as it's happy...
