I hope this makes sense. Hi, I have a rack of computers I can use for CP but they are on their own network that\'s not exposed to the internet. I have another computer (with 2 ethernet cards) that is connected both to the rack and to the internet. To confuse the situation more, the internet connected computer is running MacOSX, and the other computers are a mixture of XP and Win2K. My question is, can I run CP on these computers and somehow forward the data to the internet-connected computer for uploading? It is not my intention to connect the rack of the computers to the internet - only to make use of these computers for CP. Thanks for any help |

Hi, AFAIK, your computers must be connected to Internet to download the apps and Wus and to upload the results. You can't forward the Wus to machines that are not connected to the Internet (that's one of the main drawback of BOINC) You should consider allowing your rack to access the Internet; as the CPDN wus are crunched during a long time (3 weeks-1 month), you'd have to connect only once or twice a month during a few minutes (if you have a fast connection) HTH. ----------------------------------------------- Boinc Wiki L'Alliance Francophone |
