Seti will only run on an older version of the BOINC software, and CP will only run on the latest version. How is this overcome to run all on the same PC?

SETI will have a 4.x server in a few days, I believe (or perhaps upgrade 4.x as the "official" SETI/BOINC?) Soon 4.x will be the "default" BOINC version, we're just pushing things as we needed the features in 4.x to run CPDN!

4.05 has a few problems yet, though it should not be very long.

From Predictor Daily News

8/25/04 - Update of the day:

About the future of P@H: with the end of CASP, we plan to move P@H to a more powerful server, upgrade it to 4.x and, with your great support, start the study of new, more accurate protein prediction algorithms.

Great!

Hi

Predictor is now going up to 4 in September.

From the Predictor News:
The creation of new accounts is temporary closed. We will open again the creation of new accounts after the transition of our server to BOINC 4.x and the end of CASP (approximately the second week of September). Thanks for your patience.

Seti should go to 4.05 by the morning of Friday the 27th 2004 EDT (that's the Californian time zone).

From S@H page:

"We are investigating the Win98 hang/crashing issues in this Thread Please check it out for any updates.
NOTE: This bug puts your machine in a state that causes you to reset your machine in order to be able to use it, this in turn can cause disk corruption. We recommend that you hold off executing BOINC on Win98 and WinME until thiss issue is resolved."

Is the same problem appear with CP and BOINC ?

No. See this thread. If you want to run CPDN under Win98 this can only be done using the classic version, not BOINC. You can always run this whilst waiting for SETI units :-)
