I\'m a noob here. I\'m just wondering if around 3.69 s/TS is right for my Athlon XP 3000+ 1 gig pc 2700 ram machine. Also, when I hit the projection and borders, half of the map doesn\'t show any borders at all, just temperatures, pressure, and rain. Any help? |

The s/TS is probably about right. What program are you using to see the viz? There are 3: the builtin one, Martin Sykes CpView, and the Advanced Visualisation. It will also be affected by your graphics card, (some ATI cards cause problems), and the hadsm version. (4.13 was created to fix the ATI problem). |

3.69 s/TS seems a bit slow for an XP 3000. I am getting 2.72 s/TS on a Barton 2500. I am using PC3200 memory but the processor is running at stock speeds. I have an Athlon 64 3000 running at 2.18 s/TS using Corsair value ram and another running at 2.42 s/TS using Samsung ram. I am getting 3.69 s/TS on a Sempron 2600. I think that your machine should be doing better than my Sempron though. All machines are running WinXP. I suspect that the mileage will vary on other operating systems though |

Yes, 3.69 is slow for that PC. Are you running the graphics while running the model? Persistently running graphics can really hit performance. |
