Hi there. I\'ve been using boinc 4.45 for a couple months now, and have had up to 5 projects running on a machine, with no real problems. But now, on a machine just running seti and cpdn, I had some real weird behavior. I had just changed the machine from \"school\" to \"home\", on both projects, to go back to my main 50/50 priority, last evening. I did not hit update, on the projects, figuring I\'d just let them update upon contact. This morning, I find that boinc has the right priorities, but it thinks it is running cpdn, when task manager shows idle. Indeed, no increasing time for cpdn, all night long.. I tried suspend/resume/upate, a few times, and no help. I exited boinc, and started it back up, and everything appears to be back to normal. This was on my host mycroft, if it matters. Is there a better place to report this, since it looks like a boinc bug? Or is it a well known one, already? Thanks, Don |

Did this occur after a benchmark? <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2921">http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2921</a> |

If only one of the CPDN threads has been left, it could be what I had here : <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2835">forum_thread.php?id=2835</a> It didn't happen again after taking down the speed slightly |

I have the same problem with 4.45. It has been "running" but task manager shows system idle since 8/3/05 only a restart would fix. I've looked at the posts about the benchmark bug but i dont think that is it. In any case running benchmarks manually is not an option. I run CP because supposedly i dont have to bother with the machines for weeks at a time. After a year of constant problens with boinc, on this and other projects, I dont care or worry about it anymore. If the powers that be recommend a bonic version that does not work im not going to be to concerned about it either. My enthusiasm for distributed computing is non existant just like a lot of my results hehe |

It happened again, and only one thread was left. Now my system is already turned way down from where it will run windows and regular apps. It is turned down to where it will run prime95 over night, with 0 errors. It runs everything else, including einstein, predictor, lhc, seti, just fine. So, now I have to turn it down, just for cpdn? I turned it down 1 step, and cpdn is still not stable. The one task disappeared again, after 20 hours... Sigh. This isn't an AMD-64 issue, with cpdn, is it? Don |

Another has finished 12 successfully, had 4 error on download, and another 6 with errors due to memory instability after an ill-advised BIOS update. |

Thanks for the good words. We'll see how long it runs at 2 mhz down, on fsb. I might just give up on cpdn, for that system, and turn it back up to speed, and let it crunch other projects. |
