I have been running climateprediction with no problem and decided to upgrade to the latest version of Boinc but now I can\'t connect (I\'m using broadband and have access to the Internet for other programs) and I can\'t find where to get the project to connect. It just say\'s disconnected in the bottom menu bar and the tick boxes in Options for HTTP Proxy & SOCKS Proxy are all greyed out. I now don\'t have Climateprediction listed in my projects either. Can anyone help me please? Thanks |

What version of BOINC were you running before? If it was 4.19 or lower, did you uninstall first? Did you install to the same folder that BOINC was running in before the upgrade? If not, that might explain the problem. |

I was running version 4.19 and uninstalled it first. I accepted the default settings. I re-uninstalled it again but this time rebooted the computer and turned off my BlackIce firewall and tried re-installing and it worked this time. My other computer accepted the upgrade from version 4.19 with no problems and it also runs BlackIce, only difference is the problem machine runs Win 2000 Pro and the other Win XP Pro. A bit of a mystery but it is sorted now and is again number crunching. Thanks for the reply Steric |
