Hello,
after one year participating in cpdn I\'ve read a lot about how to keep the project and it\'s work on safe ground. Now I want to change some parts of my computer (cpu, board, graphic card) and after that I\'m using a new OS. My harddisks won\'t be changed. I only will copy my boinc folder to a cd. Is there more to do?

What OS are you changing from and to.

If it is Win 2000 to Win XP, I expect this will be fine. I don't think a change to Linux will allow continuation.

exactly W2K to Win XP. I want to reinstall Boinc Version 4.19 and then simply start out of my backup folder.

Greetings

If you for some reason you copy the directory directly to CD, then have to use the CD and copy the files back to the HD from that, they will all have write permission set to off, so you will need to change write permission to yes/on.

It is better to put the whole BOINC folder into a zip file, you will not have to change every file back to allow writting.
