I have some results that I need to merge. I have that ability if the machine name remains the same, but sometimes the machine name will change depending if I\'ve put it on a different IP or what gethostbyname() returns, or if the operating system changes... if this is the case, I can\'t select the machine I want to merge results with from the merge page. It\'s the same hardware. Is there a way around this? |

Not sure for different name, but probably not, since some users has multiple same-spec-machines... But atleast for different OS, this is impossible, and also makes perfect sense since let's say in one month a bug is found in the linux-client. If it had been possible to merge a windows-machine & a linux-machine, it's very difficult to know which results is bad and must be re-sent. For a lesser extent the same holds between windows-versions, made stronger by the fact CPDN doesn't work under NT4. As for cpu, in case a new pentium-bug emerges, it also makes sense here to make it impossible to merge. |

I should have remembered this from Seti where I had at least 2 of each host. I should have updated to XP SP2 before attaching to the project. Now I am going for the 2 of each again !!!!!!!! |
