One of my machines is trying to upload some work (since 26.08.05) but never gets to actually upload but following message:

..
Temporarily failed upload of 13ta_200072136_0_3.zip: 500
Started upload of 13ta_200072136_0_3.zip
schedule_cpus: time 3600.089627
..

Is there anything I can do?

The upload server at Bern is down, so you'll have to wait.
It's possible that the Uni is now having water problems.
There is a message on the news page here, and a thread here on the community forum, where there is a message from Carl on page 3.

BUT ...
I suggest that you disable BOINC network access, if this is possible with your setup.
Next, make a full backup of the BOINC folder. (Suspend 1st, as there is a 'lock file'.
Apparently BOINC will abort the upload after 2 weeks.

My plan is: Disable access and backup, (done), wait until the server is up, backup again, restore the backup that I made today, upload, restore the next backup, delete the zips if they are still there, and then continue running and trickleing.

There is a message here, about a work around for the upload problems posted by Thyme Lawn. This is for clients that have been trying for about a week so that things aren't lost and everyone can keep happilly crunching.

If you try Thyme Lawn's suggestion, make sure that it has worked, because it doesn't work for me, and I've tried several times.

does not work for me. DNS resolves it OK, but if I try to visit anything at www.climateprediction.net it just sits there until it times out. This has been the status for several days now. So my queue of stuff to upload now has 5 items in it. setiathome and proteinfolding do not have this problem right now.

The two links in my previous post are on different parts of the server at The Open University.
As stated in the news on the front page a month ago, the OU are down for maintenance from 2-4 Sept.

The 5 items will be the 5 zips waiting to upload to Bern, which, as several of us have been saying for 2 weeks, is off line.

It started as a hd failure, but this was just before the heavy rain throughout parts of Europe, which caused floods, (and deaths), in parts of Austria, Switzerland, and Germany.
Parts of Bern were flooded, so I'm guessing that the continuing problem is related to that.
