Hello,
I understand that the Climateprediction model is a big file. What I do not understand is why old models that have already been run remain on the system and waste space there.
I am using some desktops and one laptop and to be honest having 1GB+ wasted on old stuff is not so nice.
Now the question... Does Climateprediction really need to store that data on my PC? Can I safely remove it once the project/model has been run completely?
Thanks in advance for the info!

Dario

There is advice on retaining data <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2951">here</a>. With the much larger size of the sulphur files this will be more of an issue, but the fact remains that some users like to have the files for their own study, quite apart from the value to experimenters. Any automatic deletion cuts across the principle that users should have control of their systems, so you can't please everyone.

Might be worth a look at

<a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2951">Data retention</a>

or

<a href="http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=Climateprediction_FAQ#Why_is_there_330MB.2F608MB_of_data_left_on_my_disk.3F">Wiki</a>
which says the same things but has a link to how to save or delete CP data.

Edit: Andrew beat me to it.
