The RAC code has already run through, dropping it (once again), but no credit has been granted to the newest trickle since the code update. It does show: 10 Sep 2005 16:23:45, then shows previous wu info when clicked. The error on the \"Your Account\" page is gone now. Looks like you commented out the donate link too. James :-) |

Credit is allocated by a program which runs about every 12 hours. There are a lot of posts about this and the reason why. If you can\'t find them, (might be on the Community forum), I\'ll write it up again. |

I\'m rerunning stats as I think I\'ve come up with a fairer/sensible RAC algorithm -- basically the RAC for a result is the \"value\" of a last trickle within 24 hours, and then exponentially decays from that (so you\'re not penalized if you trickle just after stats are recalc\'d). This should give more sensible #\'s more in line with other BOINC projects -- and properly weight it towards those users/results still active. |

Credit is allocated by a program which runs about every 12 hours. Les, Thanks for your answer. I knew how and when it is usually granted. The problem I mentioned then pertained to the BOINC code that Carl had just applied. I was letting him know the errors I had found when the code was applied. You can probably read through my previous posts to see. I also have a PM going (as we speak) to \"crandles\". I know it probably sounded like a \"where\'s my credit..waaaaa\" post, but I\'ve been here/there before. ;-) It looks like Carl did a re-write of the code for RAC... see his post here. James :-) |

should be OK now since stats have been rerun. the RAC should be \"sensible\" now as I\'ve come up with I hope the ultimate CPDN-style \"exponential credit decay\" based on the BOINC way --- basically I \"exponentially decay\" each trickle from when the stats are run compared versus the trickle date/time. It seems to be the best way (i.e. favors heavily recent trickles -- I could all trickles within a 24 hour period as the same time so you\'re not penalized if you trickle right after the stats for that period are generated). The numbers seem to make sense now as compared with other BOINC projects, let me know what you think! |
