I reinstalled Boinc and reapplied my user ID . I was in second stage of a model. Have I lost the previous model and must start over?

Not if you have a backup of the Run. In which case, copy the backup over your new boinc Folder as re-start as usual. (If backup was to CD, it is necessary to reset the \"read only\" flag on the restored Folder set by Windows.)

[Edit] Sometimes error conditions show in \"Your Account\" but that doesn\'t affect the science results -- and credit will be applied once the Model running from backup passes the Model\'s highest logged Trickle. [/Edit]

If no backup, the Run is lost and one must start anew.

No need, IO.
The system is set up to allow for this. The servers will know about the failure and flag the data set for re-issue, up to a max of 5 times. You can tell the \"issue\" number by the last digit in your model name. Zero for the 1st time, up to 4 for the 5th time.
