i just installed boinc on a linux machine with an AMD Athlon 1200MHz, 256MB DDRRam
( Suse 9.3, Boinc 4.43 for linux )

first everything went fine i got a hadsm 4.13 unit to process but then it also downloaded 2 sulphur_cycle 4.21 experiments and started working on one

now i have 3 units on the pc and will never be able to just process one of the sulphurs in time...

doesn\'t make sense to me

BOINC was written for SETI, which has processing times measured in hours.
All the other projects, (as far as I know, without running any of them), also complete in hours.
Originally, new wus were downloaded towards the end of processing, but this has changed with the latest versions.
And BOINC has trouble handling cpdn, with it\'s very long completion times and trickles, which aren\'t used by the other projects.

The only way to avoid extra sulphurs, is to limit the disk space available to BOINC, so that it\'s less than the amount needed to process them.
But you\'ll still get extra slab models.

Unfortunately, a lot of people are having problems with sulphur models, so you may well crash both of them, and no longer have them on your hands.
Which is, at the same time, both good news and bad news.

But if you complete both of them, even outside the time limit, the results will be usefull to the researchers.

so i might just install an older command line version of boinc?
(got another linux pc)

I\'m not sure how it would handle sulphur, but if you\'re happy with command line, backup first, and then try it.
But you should be able to limit downloads by squeezing the space.

Try Use no more than 900 MB, update the project in BOINC, and see if that works.
