I downloaded my first sulphur cycle WU around September 19. I noticed three things different from earlier CPDN WUs:
- the WU takes very much longer to complete (2100 hours vs. 800 hours)
- it takes longer for one TS to complete (5.x sec vs. 3.x sec)
- the deadline is much shorter than previously; I believe it used to be one year, now it is less than 6 months.

I\'m sure that I can just about complete the current WU until its set deadline, but only if I do not participate in any other projects.

Is it intentional that the sulphur cycle deadlines are so short?

The project people need the sulphur results by about February, for the start of the coupled ocean experiment. (Experiment 2, in the science pages to the left of here.)

They are longer because there are 5 phases instead of 3. The extra 2 are the sulphur parts.

And the ts/sec are longer because it is more complex.

There are 2 threads about sulphur; <a href=\"http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=3159&highlight=sulphur\"> here,</a> and <a href=\"http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=3161&highlight=sulphur\"> here.</a>

There is an entry in the front page news <a href=\"http://www.climateprediction.net/newsb.php?id=2\"> here.</a>

And finally, there is an entry in the BOINC Wiki <a href=\"http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=Sulphur_Cycle\"> here.</a>
