i have been running climate prediction for a long time but every model that has been downloaded fails after 30% to 45% of the job. i still have enough HD space so i don\'t get the problem.
last unit yust faild with this error message:

anybody had an idee what the problem is?
and do these unfinsched models have any scientific value?

It\'s doubtful that unfinished models help the science much. The big thing for the scientists is seeing phase two and it\'s trends, and comparing it to phase 3. On the other hand, they know some models will fail. In order to ensure it is not a hardware problem, you could run hardware tests here and make sure everything is setup right like here. Some AntiVirus software can also cause problems, so you could exclude the BOINC folder from scanning if you think that might be a cause.

Unfortunately this does happen rather often. Out of 20 WUs I have only successfully completed 3!

What I do now is to take a complete backup of the BOINC folder about once a week. If a WU crashes I am able to restore it and rerun from the last backup point.
