I\'m unable to run the BOINC software. The windows open and start to connect to localhost. Seems to freeze there. No other operation are available. I\'m behind a firewall. Work at home yesterday night but not at work today.

I still can even start the BOINC. BOINC start but at the very begining, I can click on the menu at the top for 1 or 2 secondes, than I can see a small msg at the bottom saying: \"connecting to localhost in progress\" than everything freeze. Need to kill the application to have the \"send repport error\" popup. I I tried to reinstall the software a couple of time today. I also tried to copy 4.45b. Same problem. I tried to disable remote desktop connection: same problem. I didn\'t even had the time to register to a project the first time I started it this morning.

BOINC work at home so yes, maybe the process finish and register everything at home but not at work.

Uninstall 4.45 and install 4.19. See if that will get you started.

4.19 works perfectly. Don\'t know what happen with 4.45.

boinc.exe and boincmgr.exe need local access on ports 1043 and 31416. boinc.exe will also need outside access on port 80. Allowing this in your firewall will most likely fix your problem.

Downgrading will not be good advice for much longer. Version 5.2.x may be out as soon as next week. At that point the earlier versions will not be available any more.
