win xp sp2, pent4 @ 1.4 gig, 768 ram. upgraded from boinc 4.13 to 4.45 and while both seti and cp continued to operate successfully both screensavers stopped. after suspending zonealarm firewall, downloaded norton i\'net security on top of my functioning nav 2005. got seti and its screensaver working ok. cp crunched for a while but the screensaver would only appear sporadically at odd times. now requests for work don\'t result in any downloads. cp and seti are listed on the projects screen but only seti on the work screen. messages when project was reset twice show a request for \"0\" seconds of work?????

It may still have the same name, but versions of BOINC beyond 4.19 are a \'different kettle of fish\' to the earlier versions.

BOINC requested 0 seconds of work, and that is what it got.
Basically, your computer has enough work to do from all the other projects you are running.

There is a bug in 4.45 which stops processing from restarting after the 5 day bench mark.

Finally, running a screen saver takes up cpu clock cycles. This is worse with older display cards, and, while not a problem with the short times of other projects, is not a good idea here.
A lot of us have screen saver set to blank, and turn off the display device when not in use.
When you want to check the model visually, there is a builtin graphic. Which also takes up cpu time if run for long periods.
