I attached climateprediction to BOINC Manager and it went ahead and downloaded work, but the work status is \'Paused\' and has remained that way for about 12 hours. What do I have to do to make it process the work???

Have a look under File, and make sure that you have selected either Run always, or Run based on preferences.
In Windows, the message is Suspended, but it may be different for a Mac.
What BOINC version are you using?
Also, are you running other projects? I\'m not sure what message you get on non-running projects when they are swapped out.

The File menu shows \'Run based on preferences\' is selected.

I think the \'Paused\' message does mean that the other project (SETIathome) is running. I was able to get it to run by suspending the other project, but even though this finally switched to \'Running\', it was NOT running -- after 10 hours of uninterrupted run time, it was still 0.00% complete and cpu usage was only about 1%. (When SETI is running, it utilizes all available cpu time.)

BOINC Manager shows version 4.43.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Ten hours isn\'t very long for a project which takes hundreds of hours.
Either let it run for a few days, or let BOINC do the switching between projects based on \'scheduling\', as explained <a href=\"http://boinc.berkeley.edu/sched.php\"> here,</a> and <a href=\"http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=Work_Scheduler\"> here.</a>

Also, there is a bug in the Windows version of BOINC 4.45, which may also be in 4.43
This is talked about <a href=\"http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2855\"> here,</a> and I also posted about it (for windows), <a href=\"http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=3412\"> here.</a>

I understand that climateprediction jobs will progress very slowly.
SETI has been running on 4.43 for months with absolutely no problems.
I have let BOINC Manager run on its own, and it does switch between the two projects.

When SETI is running, BOINC CPU use is 10-20% (however much is available, depending on what else is running), and CPU time, Progress, and time To completion all increment regularly.

When climateprediction is running, CPU use is 1% or so, Progress stays at 0.00%, and it shows no CPU time. (If the job is, say 1500 hours, Progress should increment by 0.01% several times an hour.) All these different stats indicate the same thing: that absolutely no work is being done.

Not being a Mac person, the only other thing I can suggest is to suspend and then exit BOINC, and then reboot the computer.

I\'ll try this and see what happens, but both climate prediction units say they are now 100% complete. A unit completed and \'ready to report\' in only a few hours -- I doubt it! The other unit says \'computational error\'.

I am detaching this project and trashing all the files. I will then make one more attempt to attach this project and see if it works. If that doesn\'t work, I\'ll turn my attention to another project.

P,S, I \'subscribed\' to this question, but I never receive any notification that answers had been posted.
