It has been almost a week since climateprediction has sent out any work. Is something up (or down I guess I should say)? DaveG |

There was work available 3 days ago when I finished a slab model, and was switching from 2 processors to 1. What message(s) are you getting in relation to this? Which version of BOINC are you using? Have you checked the options under File to make sure that you haven\'t accidently selected Suspend? Have you updated your version of BOINC recently? (New versions use different ports and require an update to firewall settings.) Or changed your firewall or proxy server, or their settings? |

One of my PCs downloaded a sulphur model about a day and a half ago. Beyond that, I can\'t offer any more advice than what Les gave you. |

There was work available 3 days ago when I finished a slab model, and was switching from 2 processors to 1. I am not getting any messages at all. The project is not suspended, and I am using version 5.2.6. All other projects are fetching work fine. I just tried to update and then reset the project...this is all the info I received back: 11/9/2005 11:18:22 PM|climateprediction.net|Sending scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi 11/9/2005 11:18:22 PM|climateprediction.net|Reason: Requested by user 11/9/2005 11:18:22 PM|climateprediction.net|Note: not requesting new work or reporting results 11/9/2005 11:18:26 PM|climateprediction.net|Scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi succeeded 11/9/2005 11:19:08 PM|climateprediction.net|Resetting project 11/9/2005 11:19:08 PM||request_reschedule_cpus: exit_tasks 11/9/2005 11:19:08 PM||request_reschedule_cpus: project op Hopefully it will get some work now, but it doesn\'t look like it so far. |

It could be that CPDN is being stopped because it racked up a bunch of \"debt\" to your other projects while it finished your last WU. This is certainly a possibility since the time to complete estimates have become so inaccurate. This is a problem with the relatively large run times, and short turnaround time for the Sulphur models. BOINC thinks it will need a huge number of hours to finish (when it really needs less than half that number), so it runs CPDN more than it really needs to in order to meet the deadline -- then it finishes up, and has racked up a lot of Long/Short Term debt. I don\'t think that \"reset\" clears the debt. I am pretty sure that if you detach, stop and restart BOINC, then reattach, it will reset the debt. If you are into such things, there is a nice little utility BOINCDV that lets you monitor the debts that have been racked up (and reset them). You can find a link to the download site on http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/download_network.php. It works fine with BOINC 5.2.6. |

If your computer had free processing time available, BOINC would most likely have requested some when it contacted the scheduler. It\'s seems that BOINC has decided that you don\'t need any more work at the moment. There is some info on this here in the BOINC Wiki. |
