I have recently downloaded both the climate prediction model and the advanced visualisation packages from this website and now find that the visualisation package cannot detect the running model on my computer. I am running XP on a laptop less than a year old and have tried all the suggestions of relocating folders etc that are in other locations on this website. PLEASE could someone tell me how to get the advanced visualisation to work before I totally lose patience with the whole thing.
Thanks in advance.

I\'m worried that you have only recorded one trickle, on 30 October. Though you say your model is running, it should have made much more progress than that.

Are you using BOINC version 4.45? There was a problem with that version as it sometimes shows the model as running though it is not. I suggest that you exit BOINC and install the latest version of BOINC. Try that, and if you are still having problems let us know.

Thanks for your reply. I was running 5.2.2 and have just downloaded the latest version, 5.2.7, but when I try to run this program I am informed \'Error reading setup initialization file\'. I am beginning to lose patience and will only give it one more go before I cut my losses and give up entirely. I was looking forward to participating in this experiment and it will be a shame if I have to give up.
The reason why there has been only one trickle is that my pc is only working for an hour or so each night as I work full time.
Let\'s hope we can get the bugs sorted.

AAARGH! downloaded 5.2.7 and STILL no experiment detected! Took over 2 hours and 2 attempts and I\'m still where i started. I ahve no idea why trickles aren\'t being reported, my CPU says it has spent 15.5 hours running this already, I expected things to move ahead faster than this. Is there something I\'m missing?

At an hour per day, it will take you well over a year to complete a slab model.
Sulphur will take 2/3rds as long again, as it has 5 phases instead of 3.

The advanced viz isn\'t essential to view the model. There is a builtin viz.
Just click on the model name under the work tab, and then click Show graphics.
The AV is of more use to people who run the model 24/7, and quickly get a lot of data to study.
