Hello, i have 2 problems with boinc 4.43 for Linux. First, when i connect to a host with SSH an run boinc, i can\'t logout! i must kill the process from remote host. And the second problem, i have a lot of hosts where the boinc process use 100% of CPU when it must be idle (time of day config) i can\'t stop it , so i must use kill -9 boinc. I have 150 hosts and today, all of them are in this state! Thanks for your help! |

Either set it up to run automatically on boot up from a script in /etc/rc.d/rc.2 or run it using \"nohup ... &\". Are you using multiple venues with one set up to run unrestricted? If so your hosts may not be using the venue you think. I\'m not sure if 4.43 was fixed for venue changes made on the website. If not your only option is to manually edit the required venue into client_state.xml as the second last line as below. <host_venue>work</host_venue> (or school or home). Delete the line if you want to use the global venue. "The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer |

Hello, [mode recrutement sauvage on] I know this is not the primary aim of your post, but would you like to join the Alliance Francophone team (as a French user, you would boost our stats greatly and l\'AF is the 1st team on the CPDN project) ? We saw that you have lot of machines but didn\'t know how to contact you. Feel free to take a look at our modest forum (see the link in my signature) [mode recrutement sauvage off] You can find autostart script here (french tips here) or start boinc with: nohup ./boinc & The official version of Boinc is now 5.2.x. There was a lot of bug fixing, so perhaps the venue option is working better with the 5.2.x version: you could test on one machine ( be carefull, when going from 5.x to 4.43, the projects are resetted) Arnaud |
